Fischer Dining Pavilion — Fort Worth Country Day

The Fischer Dining Pavilion, completed in 2008 establishes the design vocabulary for future buildings on the Fort Worth Country Day campus and is intended to be the school’s crown jewel. The building functions primarily as the main dining hall on campus, but it is also a multi purpose building that accommodates banquets, assemblies, dances and other functions. The roof slopes up to the north to create a clerestory to capture the indirect north light while also providing an overhang on the south side of the building to shade the windows on the southern exposure. The covered walkways are intended to become a common element on future campus buildings, providing shade and shelter to the students as well as casual gathering spaces between classes.
