Beginning in 1988, Bennett Benner Pettit began assisting BNSF Railway with the consolidation of the railroad’s Corporate Management and Mission Critical Operations to a suburban campus site in north Fort Worth, Texas.
Approximately 4000 of its 42,000+ workforce have been accommodated in a Headquarters Campus of 10 function specific buildings designed to support the corporate workforce of the now merged Burlington Northern and Santa Fe companies and the advanced technology now used to manage, maintain and monitor what is today, the largest railroad in the United States.
The Campus design reflects the traditional elements of rail station and rail yard vernacular in a natural Texas prairie setting while maintaining interim use of existing buildings from a previous corporate user. The Campus layout, connectivity and access are specifically designed to support the 24/7/365 operations distributed across the multi-structure Headquarters.
In addition to providing Programming, Planning, Architecture, Site Planning and Landscape Architecture for Campus expansion building projects beginning in 1992, Bennett Benner Pettit has provided Interior Design and Workplace Management for the previous Downtown Fort Worth Corporate Headquarters, off-site leases and the current campus since 1988.
